I participated in a panel on best practices for robotics software engineering at the 3rd International Workshop on Robotics Software Engineering.

The discussion brought together perspectives from JPL, Bosch, Waymo, and XITASO on the practices and challenges of building real robotics systems, including architecture, testing, simulation, model-driven development, and autonomous driving software.

My contribution focused on the development and testing of autonomous driving systems at Waymo, including the role of simulation, log-based evaluation, large-scale regression testing, closed-course testing, and public road testing in building confidence in autonomous behavior.

The panel later led to the paper Industry Best Practices in Robotics Software Engineering.
